Dodge City Community College STEM student Carmen Del Real will be attending the 2017 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) November 1-4 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.

Ms. Del Real has received the Student Travel Award from the ABRCMS, which entitles her to receive conference registration, 4 nights of housing, airfare, and subsidies paid for by the conference. Applicants for the Student Travel Award were evaluated on their academic achievement, experience conducting independent work, interest in biomedical and/or behavioral sciences, and motivation to attend the conference.

While at the conference, Carmen will be giving a poster presentation on her abstract, “A Screen for Genetic Modifiers of Protein Phosphatase 1 in Drosophila Collective Cell Migration.”
