Title:

Rodeo Coach - Part Time


Responsibilities:

Duties of the Rodeo Coach will consist of managing and coaching the rodeo team, including recruiting and advising student athletes, public relations, fundraising and other responsibilities within the boundaries of the rules and regulations of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and Dodge City Community College.

Essential Responsibilities
  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ To provide challenging and diverse opportunities for the pursuit of learning and to enhance personal and community development in a responsible, accessible and learner-centered environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to recruit student athletes in accordance with NIRA and College regulations and guidelines
  • Obtain College membership and abide by the governing by-laws and rules of NIRA
  • Schedule and manage practice for all rodeo events
  • Direct team meetings
  • Coordinate and make arrangements for team travel
  • Maintain equipment, manage facilities, and operations related to Rodeo
  • Maintain Rodeo budget
  • Work in conjunction with academic advisor, Registrar, and Financial Aid to ensure student eligibility
  • Participate in Advisory Board activities
  • Serve as a resource person for students and community
                   Required qualifications
  • Associate Degree in agriculture, equine science, livestock, or experience in rodeo related field
  • Available for overnight travel and evening work
  • Computer skills
  • A valid Kansas driver’s license
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree

Coaching Positions


Title:

Head Cheer & Dance Coach/Student Recruiter


Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Head Cheer and Dance Coach is responsible for the planning, development, and management of a collegiate cheer leading team and collegiate dance team.  Some evening and weekend work is required.

Essential Responsibilities
  • To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ To provide challenging and diverse opportunities for the pursuit of learning and to enhance personal and community development in a responsible, accessible, and learner-centered environment.
  • Maintain effective communication within the college.
  • Recruit and retain cheer and dance team college-enrolled full-time students only.
  • Conduct and supervise practices for cheer and dance teams.
  • Prepare teams for performance at athletic contests and other events.
  • Arrange and supervise team travel activities.
  • Represent the College in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Coordinate cheer and dance fund raising events, through Athletic Director approval.
  • Promote the cheer and dance programs through involvement within the community and Alumni Booster Association.
  • Assist the department with all assigned duties and solicit items for the Alumni Booster Auction.
  • Attend all Athletic Department meetings and other College committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
                   Required qualifications
  • Previous experience in cheer team and dance team instruction and supervision.
  • Must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license
Preferred
  • Associate’s degree.
