Don’t Text #JustDrive DC3 Poster Contest
Are you creative and want to make an impact to save lives?
Dodge City Community College is hosting a poster contest for the “Don’t Text #JustDrive” pledge campaign. The contest is open to all members of the community and surrounding areas. Students and community members are asked to create a poster around the theme “Don’t Text, Just Drive” encouraging drivers to keep their eyes up, phones off, and save lives.
All artwork becomes the property of Dodge City Community College and will not be returned. Dodge City Community College reserves the right to edit, modify, or change entries to include additional content. All winning artwork will be reproduced and used locally throughout 2017 to promote the “Don’t Text, #JustDrive” campaign. Winning entries will be announced on March 31, 2017 via press release, social media, on the Dodge City Community College website, and through internal campus communications.
Submissions must be received by March 29, 2017 at 5:00pm. Deliver the artwork in person to the Public Relations office in the Administration Building or send entries to the address below. **School districts – see note.

How it works
Create a poster using the specifications below:
Each poster must be no larger than 11”x17”
Posters must be created by one person. Group posters will not be permitted.
Entrants may use pencil, crayon, paint, digital media, photography, or any other 2-D material.
All entries should include the entrant’s name, address, phone number, email address (if applicable), school (if applicable), and category of submission (K-5, 6-12, or Adult) printed on the back of the artwork and must be received no later than Wednesday, March 29 at 5:00pm.
- Entrants will be split into three categories:
- Kindergarten to 5th grade (prize is $25 gift card to Walmart)
- 6th grade to 12th grade (prize is $25 gift card to Dodge City Community College bookstore)
- Adults 18 years of age or older (prize is $50 gift card to the Dodge City Community College bookstore & two 2017-2018 season passes to home football and basketball games)
Posters will be judged on the following criteria: originality, creativity, artistic ability, craftsmanship, message, and overall ability to promote the Don’t Text #JustDrive campaign.
Winners will be announced no later than Friday, March 31, 2017.
