On Wednesday, April 3, Dodge City High School and area middle school students participated in medical career exploration during Health Care and Social Services Day, which was hosted at the Dodge City Civic Center.
Made possible through a partnership between Dodge City Community College (DC3), Dodge City Public Schools, and the Rural Education and Workforce Alliance, the event gave students an opportunity to gain valuable insights into various medical specialties and healthcare practices. In addition, representatives from DC3’s Nursing Department, CommonSpirit Health’s St. Catherine Hospital, Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Social Work program and FHSU Communication Science, Pratt Regional Medical Center, and Compass Behavioral Health were on site to share about their fields and to answer questions.
During the event, five high school students, chosen at random, received scholarships to DC3 for the 2024-25 academic year.
