The Dodge City Community College (DC3) graduation weekend began with the college’s fourth-annualHonors Banquet, on Friday, May 10, at the Boot Hill Casino and Resort Conference Center. Featuring remarks from Distinguished Alumnus Greg Goff, the evening included a special recognition ceremony for the college’s High Honors and Honors graduates.
On Saturday, May 11, the college hosted its annual graduation ceremonies at the United Wireless Arena. Up first was the Nursing Pinning Ceremony at 10 a.m., which was followed by Commencement at 3 p.m.
At Commencement, Leslie Jaquez, of El Paso, Texas, gave the invocation and the student leader remarks, and Goff gave a second address as the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus. Following suit with last year’s change to purple caps and gowns for the graduates, the college’s diploma covers also were changed from black to purple this year.
Of the 2,145 people who attended the 2024 Commencement ceremony, 212 were DC3 students receiving degrees and/or certificates.
