Congratulations on taking the next step in your educational journey at Dodge City Community College (DC3)! You are joining a proud tradition of students who have challenged themselves, discovered their potential, and built brighter futures through opportunity, determination, and hard work.
At DC3, we are committed to helping you conquer your academic goals and pursue your personal ambitions by providing exceptional educational opportunities at an affordable cost. Just as importantly, you will find a community that supports you, inspires you, and encourages you to achieve more than you thought possible.
Our Conquistador tradition dates back to 1935, when DC3’s first students considered several mascot options. When the student body voted on the six finalists, the Conquistador emerged as the clear favorite. Students were drawn to the name because of the region’s history—Spanish conquistador Francisco Vázquez de Coronado explored the area in 1541—and because conquistador means “conqueror” in Spanish. That spirit of determination and achievement continues to define DC3 today.
During your time here, you will build lifelong friendships, develop meaningful connections, and create unforgettable memories that will shape your future. On behalf of the DC3 Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and staff, welcome to Conq Nation! We are excited to be part of your journey and look forward to seeing all you accomplish.
Together we conquer!
— Dr. Harold Nolte, President
