For students that want to use Financial Aid, Grants, or Scholarships, our goal at Dodge City Community College is to help you navigate the Financial Aid process and help you get the funds that are available in order to help you pay for your education.
There are several different types of aid such as:
Veterans or family members of veterans wanted to utilize the GI Bill® to pay for college, should contact the College’s Veterans Coordinator at veterans@dc3.edu
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
Be ready to respond to any requests from the Financial Aid office immediately. Check your email often! Your ability to respond quickly will help us do our best to help you get approved. The Financial Aid Department usually communicates through ConqMail.
Review your Award Letters to evaluate whether you will need a Federal Direct Student Loan. If so, contact the Office of Financial Aid.
Contact finaid@dc3.edu with any questions.
*Academic Scholarships are awarded on a first come-first serve basis.
Our next step in the process is to send a copy of your Official Transcripts to the College.
Transcripts are required for many things, such as scholarships, federal financial aid, student-athlete eligibility, and graduation. Students can enroll without having transcripts on file. However, high school transcripts are helpful to determine any multiple measure placements, and college transcripts help our advisors better understand where you’re at in your journey.
Official high school transcripts, GED, and any previously attended college or university transcripts must be sent from the awarding high school or issuing institution directly to the Records Office at transcripts@dc3.edu.
Don’t worry! Ordering your transcripts is usually pretty easy. Most often you will be using a special service like Parchment to request copies of your transcripts sent to DC3. Each school you have attended will be sending the transcripts directly to us so do not worry if you do not see them in the mail. Click the link below to see how it works:

Planning to take a Math or English class? Your next step might be a Placement Test. This assessment helps us make sure you start in the class that’s the best fit for your skills. Not every program at DC3 requires Math or English, so check your Degree Map on our website or chat with your advisor to find out if you’ll need to take it.
Please forward your test scores to our Testing Center at testingcenter@dc3.edu. Our current placement guide can be found on our website or under the Student tab in your MyDC3 portal.
If you have not taken a placement test or did not score as well as you would have liked, that’s okay! We offer free ACCUPLACER testing on our Dodge City campus. Please reach out to our Testing Center at testingcenter@dc3.edu to schedule.
If you have previously taken Math and/or English at another college or university and earned a C or above in the course, then you may not need to provide your placement test scores.
You do not have to test if you don’t want to! If Math and English are not strong subjects for you, then you can enroll directly into Math or English Composition I with Review.
Not sure what option is best for you? Please contact our Advising team at advising@dc3.edu.
If you are planning on living on campus, applying for student housing is next on our list. Student housing is available on a first come, first served basis. To apply, students must complete the Housing Application listed under the Student tab in your MyDC3 portal, and new students will need to submit their $150 nonrefundable application fee along with these additional items:
We offer suite-style and apartment-style floor plans. Each room has their own WiFi and cable TV hookups. All rooms are double-occupancy with a shared bathroom in each unit. Laundry facilities and on-campus parking are FREE.
Payments can be through your portal or by contacting our Business Office at 620-227-9209. More details and information can be found on our Residence Life webpage.
Our students are not required to live on campus, but if you plan to, you must complete the application. The Fall housing application will typically open in March. Students will need to reapply annually. Returning students will not need to pay another application fee.
Housing assignments are communicated by our Residence Life team to your ConqMail.
You’ve made it to the final step! It’s now time to enroll in your classes.
You have several different options when it comes to enrolling:
If you don’t feel comfortable doing this on your own, that’s okay! You are more than welcome to meet with one of our dedicated advisors to build your schedule.
Enrolling in classes means you are registering for your courses for the upcoming semester. Seeing an advisor early in the enrollment cycle will give you more options for class times and help you build a schedule that works for you and your lifestyle.
Courses can vary in length and mode of instruction. 8-week and 4-week classes, although shorter in length, still contain the same information as a 16-week class, so this means that these are much more fast-paced and require increased focus.
We encourage you to have a conversation with your advisor and discuss things such as:
