About Program (Skills)

Students completing the Building Construction Technology program will gain the following:

  • Stair construction
  • Drywall installation and finish
  • Cabinet installation
  • Trim/finish work
  • Basic concrete forming & finishing
  • Basic roofing methods
  • Building Codes/Standards
  • Basic Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing methods

Career Options

Graduates of the Building Construction Technology program may pursue the following careers:

  • Apprentice level carpenter
  • Journeyman level carpenter
  • Project estimator
  • Licensed contractor – additional experience
  • Project foreman – additional education/experience required
