The Nursing Program at Dodge City Community College prepares students for rewarding careers in healthcare through rigorous academic instruction, hands-on clinical experiences, and state-of-the-art simulation training. Students gain the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required to deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Learners may complete the Associate Degree Nurse (A.D.N.) pathway or opt out after the first year to pursue licensure as a Practical Nurse (PN).

The DC3 Associate Degree Nurse (A.D.N.) program is aligned with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP code 51.3801: Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. A program that generally prepares individuals in the knowledge, techniques, and procedures for promoting health, providing care for sick, disabled, infirmed, or other individuals or groups. Includes instruction in the administration of medication and treatments, assisting a physician during treatments and examinations, referring patients to physicians and other health care specialists, and planning education for health maintenance.
Completion of a Nurse Aide (CNA) certification is required for admission to the A.D.N. program.
Successful program completers are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), the passing of which culminates in the Registered Nurse (RN) credential.
A.D.N. Program Exit Option Only
The DC3 Practical Nursing program is aligned with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP code 51.3901: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training. A program that prepares individuals to assist in providing general nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or dentist. Includes instruction in taking patient vital signs, applying sterile dressings, patient health education, and assistance with examinations and treatment.
Successful program completers are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN), the passing of which culminates in the Practical Nurse (PN) credential.
