Student Government Association

DC3’s Student Government Association (SGA) plays an important role in the overall maintenance and development of the college. Its members are the voice of the students in their positions on institutional committees.

SGA’s main objectives are to promote student opinions and ideas in the revision and formulation of student policies as well as student activities.

The Student Government Association consists of:

  • Six officers elected by the student body
  • Elected representatives from each campus club
  • Members-at-large

Here is our current list of student clubs

Art Club

This club is an activity-based organization providing students with opportunities to expand their knowledge of the visual arts and related careers. Activities include travel to art museums and galleries, attending conferences, organizing art workshops for the community and participating in the creation of community murals. All students are welcome to participate.

BizConqs Business Club

The BizConqs Business Club is open to all students and provides opportunities to network, to attend conferences, to learn from area business professionals and to do community service projects.

Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO)

The Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) is dedicated to promoting Hispanic culture on campus and throughout the Dodge City community. It provides a networking group for all students passionate about Hispanic culture. Service, leadership, and academic excellence are central goals encouraged for life.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

PTK stands for Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society for students at two-year colleges. It’s the oldest and most prestigious honor society for these schools.

What PTK does:

  • Recognizes students with academic excellence and good character
  • Helps students research and apply for scholarships
  • Offers professional development courses to help students improve their career skills and confidence

What PTK offers members:

  • Scholarships, including transfer scholarships, the Leaders of Promise scholarship, and the Guistwhite scholarship
  • Professional development courses, including leadership training and career planning

PTK was founded in 1918
The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) has recognized PTK as the official honor society for two-year colleges since 1929

Student Ambassadors

The DC3 Student Ambassadors serve many important roles on our campus. They assist with the recruitment of prospective students through conducting campus tours as well as other campus activities at DC3. Student Ambassadors are some of our best and brightest and serve as great representatives of DC3.

Student Nurse Association

The Dodge City Community College Student Nurses’ Association is comprised of all students currently enrolled in the RN licensure program. Our organization aims to contribute to nursing education to provide the highest level and quality of health care for patients; promote and encourage activity in community affairs; and promote the nursing profession. Active participation within our organization gives students an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary communication skills, professionalism, leadership fundamentals and much more.
