Civic Engagement

The Associate of Arts in Civic Engagement is designed for students who want to make a real impact in their communities and prepare for careers that focus on leadership, service, and positive social change. This transfer-focused degree helps you build strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while exploring how individuals and organizations shape society.

Through coursework in social sciences, communication, government, and community-focused learning, you’ll gain the tools to understand complex issues, work collaboratively, and lead with purpose. Small class sizes and supportive faculty create an environment where you can explore your interests, develop your voice, and prepare for transfer into bachelor’s programs in public administration, political science, social work, nonprofit leadership, education, and related fields.

Whether you see yourself working in public service, advocacy, community development, or leadership roles, the DC3 AA in Civic Engagement helps you start strong and build a pathway toward meaningful work that matters.

This degree requires a minimum of 12 credits of courses with a Service-Learning component. Course offerings may vary by semester.
